A Controversy with Israel

“Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel,” Micah 6:2.
Research shows that a complainant has a fifty-fifty chance of winning in a civil lawsuit. However, God’s percentages are different, God had a controversy with the nation of Israel which meant that Israel had no chance of winning this case. The Bible says if God be for us who can be against us (Romans 8:31). However, on the other side of that, if God be against you, nothing can help you.
God had a complaint with Israel and He explained the charges He had against the nation. God’s complaint against the nation of Israel was that after He had delivered them from bondage, redeemed them, provided a place for them and gave them purpose as a people, Israel got tired of the Lord. Israel acted impatient with the Lord and got offended with the Lord. The Lord God brought his complaints to the ears of Israel and He summoned His creation, the earth and the mountains as His audience to hear His controversy, this signaled that Israel had nothing to help them, no one to help them and nowhere to turn.
God has a controversy with you when you are not grateful for Him delivering you from the bondage of sin. When you get tired of waiting on the Lord, make your decisions without him, and are offended with the Lord because He answers you according to His will and not your will. The Lord brings His Word against you which leaves you nowhere to turn and no one that can help you. The Lord can use His creation to get to you, insurmountable difficulties or natural calamities to make you aware of His controversy against you.

“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Micah 6:8
