The Mountain of the Lord

“But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it,” Micah 4:1.
My husband and I enjoy watching documentaries about Jerusalem and the Temple mount. Archeologists are discovering more every day about the rich biblical history of the area dating back thousands of years. Interesting that it all lines up perfectly with the Word of God. No surprise there! The Temple mount is a very special place. God sent Abraham to offer Isaac as a test of his faith on the mount in Moriah (Genesis 22:2). David bought the threshingfloor from Ornan the Jebusite on Mount Moriah and called it the house of the Lord (1 Chronicles 21:21—22:1). This is the very place Solomon built the first Temple (2 Chronicles 3:1) and each Temple after was built on this special mountain.
Sadly, the Temple mount has not been used for the worship of God for many years. But all of that will change one day when Jesus comes back and sets His feet upon the Mount of Olives. According to Zechariah 14, the entire topography of the area will change. The Mount of Olives will split down the middle, creating a large valley of refuge. Living waters will go forth out of Jerusalem to the Dead Sea and Mediterranean Sea and the entire area will spring forth with new life. The great Mount Zion will be high and lifted up with our Lord Jesus Christ as supreme King!
“And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one” (Zechariah 14:9). During the millennial reign, many people will come to the mountain to be taught of the Lord and hear His Word (Micah 4:2). Our Lord Jesus Christ will reign forevermore!

REFLECTION
Jesus may be your Savior, but is He the King of your life?
