God Rebukes False Prophets
“Thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him,” Micah 3:5.
A person that represents a brand or a company, is counted on by the brand or company that they are representing, to say exactly what the company or brand tells them to say. In like manner a person who represents God is to say exactly what God’s word says.
In Micah 3, God rebuked the false prophets who were lying to God’s people and causing the people to err (verse 5). The false prophets preached good things to those who supported them with bribes and preached war to those who did not contribute to or support them. The Lord, being displeased with them, caused the darkness that the false prophets were dealing in to blind them so that they had nothing to reveal, the false prophets words were empty, their following diminished and they had difficult days. The Lord caused the seers to be embarrassed, and He closed their mouths because the people would know that they had no answers from God.
God counts on His churches to proclaim His Word to the world. He wants the pastors and each member of the churches He established to proclaim exactly what He declares in His Word. When you declare the truth from God’s Word, you properly represent the Lord, Satan is defeated, people get saved and others receive answers for their lives. God’s rightly divided truth must be declared, for only He has the answers.
FINAL THOUGHT
“But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped” (Psalm 63:11).
