The Message of the Cross Was Ordained
“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory,” 1 Corinthians 2:7.
We live in a day and time when so-called scientists try to tell us what it was like before the world began. They theorize how everything came together and leave God out of the equation. The only way we can know how the earth and all of creation came about is by what God has revealed to us. God has revealed that His plan has always been that His Son, Jesus, was going to go to the cross and die for us and our sin.
While there are many stories and lessons that the Bible teaches us, it ultimately teaches us of a messiah that the world needed. The Scriptures have taught us all about Jesus, the birth, the ministry, the death, the resurrection and His return to the earth. That may seem to be a simplistic way of looking at the totality of the Bible but it is nonetheless a very true statement; it all points towards Jesus Christ. Just as the message of the cross was ordained before the world began (verse 7), so also was the calling of the Lord on your life, “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began” (2 Timothy 1:9). This calling includes us being ordained to tell others about Jesus and His sacrifice for their sin, “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Romans 8:29).
JUST A QUESTION
Are you passing the message around to others?
